Wrinkles Reduction BOTOX® blocks nerve transmission resulting in muscle relaxation, which decreases the effects of the wrinkles they can produce.

Facts

Desired Results:
It is most effective to weaken the muscles and improve frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. For certain patients, BOTOX® Cosmetic may at times be used around the mouth or on the neck. It is also used to decrease excessive sweating on palms and underarms, and for migraine or muscle-related headache.

Avoid:
The effects of BOTOX® may be increased with the use of certain antibiotics (such as aminoglycoside antibiotics) or other drugs that interfere with neuromuscular transmission. Be sure to disclose any and all pre-existing medical conditions and all medications you may be currently taking before undergoing any treatment.

Candidate:
Pregnant women should not get Botox®. Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.

 FAQs

What is Botox Cosmetic?

Botox Cosmetic is the number one prescriptive aesthetic treatment in the United States. It is FDA approved for muscle injection between the eyes to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines) in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). It is also used off label to treat the forehead, around the eyes, and a few places in the lower face. A consultation will provide you with information best suited for the individual.

How does it work?

It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.

When will I see results?

On average, most patients will see results within 72 hours. For a few individuals it can take as many as 8-10 days for decreased muscle movement. You may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows, also. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.

How long does it last?

On average, results will last for 3-4 months. These results may vary for each individual.

One friend told me she uses 16 units between the eyes (Glabeller) and another friend uses 30 units. Is this possible?

Yes! Research based information indicates that there are four distinct patient types. Botox is a unit based product, and therefore your injector will need to work with you to discover the best number of units to accomplish your goals.

How experienced are DermaTouch RN’s nurses?

Last year we used approximately 600 vials (60,000 units) of Botox and 150 vials (45,000 units) of Dysport and this year we will exceed that number. We are a Black Diamond Level Account with Allergan and have a patient retention rate well over 90%. We work hard for our clients to stay on top of the most current information based on product research.

Will I be able to make facial expressions?

Yes! Of course you are looking for a visible result, but a treatment will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done". The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.

DermaTouch, RN uses UPP (Unit Pricing Policy) to determine the cost of a BOTOX® procedure. This pricing method allows patients to pay for only what they need to treat an area rather than charging a flat rate for an area. With this method our patients know exactly how many units of BOTOX® they will be purchasing for their given treatment. DermaTouch, RN is a Black Diamond Level Account with Allergan and a Brilliant Distinctions Account with Allergan.
