Botox® in Houston, TX

Botox has been proven to be safe and effective in treating and improving the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet. It’s been FDA-approved since 2002 for cosmetic use and has literally been used on millions upon millions of patients around the world.

Many might consider natural alternatives to Botox, such as face creams, serums, and lotions. And many skincare products, such as the Allergan SkinMedica line, are backed by science and results. Still, there isn’t another treatment on the market quite like neuromodulators and neurotoxins that help to turn back the hands of time. If you’re a curious cat that likes to know what’s available to you or you are simply considering Botox for the first time, in doing your research about it, you might find some competitors that come up in your search results, including Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeaveau.

Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeaveau

Botox injections, as well as Jeaveau, Dysport, and Xeomin, are all injectables that reduce facial wrinkles in targeted areas by temporarily stopping the nerve impulse to the muscles. The result is a relaxation of the treated muscles, which in turn reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox vs Dysport

Botox and Dysport vary only slightly in their chemical formulation and are both made from Botulinum Toxin Type A. Due to differences in how they are manufactured, measured, and dispersed, they have subtle differences when injected. Once injected, the end result is similar. Dysport has been shown to work in 2 – 4 days, and Botox generally shows results within 3 – 5 days.

Botox vs Xeomin

Xeomin contains no additives, which means it does not need to be stored in a refrigerator. Botox, on the other hand, does. Xeomin has been shown to improve wrinkles within 1 – 3 days after treatment, but more gradually than Botox.

Botox vs Jeaveau

Jeaveau and Botox are very similar in make-up and have similar efficacies. Jeaveau is FDA-approved to treat glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), whereas Botox is FDA-approved to treat forehead, glabellar, and crow’s feet lines.

Patient preference

At DermaTouch RN, Botox is the product most requested, though some clients prefer Dysport. It comes down to personal results. Everyone is unique and responds to products in different ways.

In addition to Houston Botox and Dysport treatments, many request complementary treatments, such as Juvederm fillers and Juvederm lip fillers. Juvederm fillers and Juvederm lip fillers are injected into the treatment area to fill in lines and wrinkles and add volume. They can be used on areas of the face other than the forehead and the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet) where Botox can be used. And similar to Botox, there are other dermal fillers on the market, such as Restylane vs. Juvederm, and many wonders which is best.

It’s essential to work with a professional injector who understands how all of these products work and compare to each other to determine which products are best for you.
