Individuals are turning to Sciton’s new Halo technology to achieve the skin they’ve always wanted.

Laser Treatments in Houston, TX

How does the Halo work?

The Halo is the first-of-its kind hybrid fractional laser. It delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same or different microscopic treatment zones to provide ablative results, with non-ablative downtime.

What are some of the benefits of the Halo technology?

Aside from the healthy glow, you’ll receive with the Halo technology, you can also look forward to:

  • Customizable treatment to precisely target skin damage.
  • Improvement in the appearance of tone, texture, fine lines* and wrinkles.
  • Reduces pore size.
  • Flexibility in treatment levels.
  • Great results with minimal downtime.

What will the Halo do for my skin?

Halo is a complete skin-rejuvenation treatment. You will see improvements in overall tone and texture, in addition to significant removal of discoloration, reduction in fine lines, reduced pore size, and increased luminosity.

Will the Halo work for my skin tone?

Halo can be done on most skin tones, though treating darker skin may require more pre-treatment preparation. Your clinician will work with you to determine the right options and approach for you.

How do I prepare for treatment?

Pre-treatment considerations are outlined below:

  • If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that this treatment could contribute to a recurrence.
  • No one who has taken the medication Accutane or its generic forms within the last year may have this procedure.
  • No one on anticoagulants may have this procedure.
  • Skin care or treatment programs may be used before and after laser skin treatments in order to enhance the results.
  • Your practitioner might discuss additional precautions and considerations with you.

What can I expect during my treatment?

Thirty minutes to an hour before the treatment, your clinician may place a topical anesthetic on your skin to reduce the sensation during the procedure. The area will be measured with motion tracking technology to ensure the area is treated evenly. The clinician will treat each measured section by uniformly rolling the Halo handpiece over the skin until the system recognizes the treatment is complete.

What does the treatment feel like?

With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients experience very little discomfort. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 15 to 30 minutes, or a bit longer with deeper treatment levels.

When will I be able to return to normal activities?

For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to your clinician’s instructions, but after that, you should be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, your skin will begin to peel. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four, your skin will peel, revealing newer, younger skin beneath. You will receive information on how to care for your skin following the procedure.

How many treatments are required?

What’s great about Halo is that you can choose how many treatments you want! Your clinician will work with you and discuss your needs, so you can choose whether you want to have one or two treatments that are more aggressive or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.

When will I see results?

You will see initial results between two and five days after your Halo treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest pigment improvements in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months

How long do results last?

Halo results will last for years, but you should continue to use sunscreen to protect your new, healthy skin. Each additional Halo treatment you get will only improve the results, giving you even better-looking skin each time.

“Our patients LOVE Halo! 88% of patients say “Halo is worth it” and, in 2016, Halo received the Most Worth It Award from realself. Take a look at what some of our patients have said about life after their Halo treatments.” *
