Back to school MedSpa skin treatments
Here are some of our best back to school MedSpa skin treatments to consider, with some tips from the experts.
DiamondGlow Facial Treatment
Though face peels, or chemical peels, can be a great option for your skin, facials often provide results with no down time. Facials are a great to keep your skin looking fresh and youthful.
The DiamondGlow is a three-in-one facial that combines deep pore cleansing, exfoliation, and nutrient infusion. This facial can be done comfortably and quickly with no downtime to brighten your skin and help you feel more rejuvenated.
Botox
It’s no secret that Botox helps to minimize the appearance of dynamic wrinkles of the forehead, between the eyes, and crow’s feet on the outside corner of the eyes. By relaxing the muscles, and in turn, softening the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox helps you look more rested and rejuvenated.
Dermal Fillers
Professional Nurse Injector Mellissa Kirkland recommends neuromodulators in combination with dermal fillers for a more youthful appearance. “Neuromodulators, like Botox, and dermal fillers are perfect for softening expression lines and re-volumizing the face.”
The Juvederm family of dermal fillers are some of the most popular. Made of hyaluronic acid (HA), there are several different Juvederm fillers to address different skincare concerns. Juvederm Voluma, for example, is used to treat the chin and also works well as a jawline filler. Juvederm is an ideal treatment for immediate results and can add volume and contour different areas of the face, including the chin, jawline, cheeks, and lips.
Another treatment Kirkland recommends is a biostimulant filler for those with thinning skin. Juvederm is injected into the skin and immediately adds volume, though overtime, additional filler is required to maintain results as your body absorbs the filler. Biostimulant filler, or PLLA, actually stimulates a person’s own type 1 collagen and lasts many years. Another plus is that maintenance is relatively low. This treatment can also be done in conjunction with other procedures. Examples of biostimulant fillers are Sculptra and Radiesse.
CoolSculpting Elite Body Contouring
CoolSculpting has taken the world by storm as the top recommended non-surgical fat reduction treatment by doctors.
CoolSculpting and Body Contouring Specialist, Nicci Pedroni, shares, “Coolsculpting Elite is the #1 BEST non-invasive treatment to eliminate stubborn fat that diet & exercise cannot help. It’s FDA approved for permanently eliminating fat cells with minimal to no downtime. Now is the time perfect time for anyone interested in Coolsculpting Elite to find out if the treatment is right for them… Nothing to lose except belly fat if it is!!”
CoolSculpting results take one to three months and are long lasting with a healthy lifestyle.
Many providers offer complementary consultations that are free, like those at DermaTouch RN, At DermaTouch, we also virtual consults for those who cannot make it to our office in person.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Another back to school treatment that is great for those that might be struggling with an imbalance in hormones is BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy). If you’re not sure if you have a hormonal imbalance, then getting blood work done will help determine if you do.
Nurse Practitioner and BHRT Specialist Donna Lucarini points out, “Sometimes, a hormonal imbalance can impact our quality and ability to sleep. I see a lot of both women and men come to me with complaints of extreme fatigue, brain fog, lack of libido, and poor sleep. A hormonal imbalance may contribute to these symptoms. A full lab panel to include estradiol, FSH, and testosterone identifies if there is a hormone deficiency.”
The good news about bio identical hormones is that they’re identical to our own hormones. Also, pellets used in BHRT last between 3 to 4 months for women and 4 to 5 months for men. Because the hormones are implanted under the skin, they don’t pass through the liver, eliminating concerns of any blood clotting as reported with hormones taken orally.
BBL (Broadband Light Therapy)
BBL treatments use broad band light to reduce hyperpigmentation and improve the overall tone and texture of the skin. Treatments can be done on the face, neck, chest, hand, and body with little to no downtime. Results can be seen within days and improve over time.
Nonsurgical Facelifts
Nonsurgical facelifts use ultrasound technology to increase collagen production, which in turn lifts and tightens the skin without going under the knife. Two popular collagen production nonsurgical facelifts include Ultherapy and Sofwave. Initial results take a few weeks to be seen, with results improving over several months.
Add a Facial Serum to Your Skin Care Routine
Hopefully, you have a full spectrum skin care regimen that includes products with high quality ingredients, like growth factors, AHA, BHA, ceramides, and antioxidants. At a minimum, your skin cleansing at home treatment plan should include a cleanser, mild exfoliant, moisturizer, hydrator with HA, and daily sunscreen. It’s also wise to add a treatment-specific quality facial serum to the mix. SkinMedica’s Lumivive System and TNS Advanced+ Serum are great options to consider.
