DermaTouch RN – #1 Provider of Botox In Houston, Texas
How It Works
Botox is made from a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin type A. Botox® Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved prescription medicine that temporarily improves the appearance of moderate to severe forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet in adults.
As we age, repeated contractions of the muscles that control frowning and squinting cause these lines to gradually become noticeable, making us look older. When Botox is injected into those muscles, it blocks nerve transmissions and the muscles can no longer contract, reducing the appearance of existing wrinkles and lines and discouraging the formation of new ones. For certain patients, Botox can also be used around the mouth or on the neck.
What to Expect: Real, Noticeable Results
Your Botox treatment will only take a few minutes. A DermaTouch nurse will use a fine needle to inject the Botox into specific muscles. You will experience only minor discomfort and no anesthesia is needed.
On average, most patients will see results within 72 hours after Botox injections. For a few individuals it may take as many as 8-10 days after treatment for decreased muscle movement. You may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows, also. Wrinkles and lines continue to improve for up to 30 days after treatment and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.
How experienced are DermaTouch nurses with Botox injections?
Last year we used approximately 600 vials (60,000 units) of Botox and 150 vials (45,000 units) of Dysport; this year we will exceed that. We are a Black Diamond Level® Account with Allergan® and have a patient-retention rate well over 90%. We work hard for our clients to stay on top of the most current information based on the latest product research.
Will I be able to make facial expressions?
Yes! Of course, you are looking for a visible result, but Botox injections will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced by Botox. After treatment, you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and lines between your brows.
How much does Botox treatment cost?
DermaTouch uses UPP (Unit Pricing Policy) to determine the cost of Botox injections. This pricing method allows patients to pay for only what they need to treat an area rather than charging a flat rate. With this method, our patients know exactly how many units they will be purchasing for their given treatment. DermaTouch is a Black Diamond Level Account with Allergan as well as a Brilliant Distinctions® Account.
Is Botox® Cosmetic for Me?
For most people, Botox is a safe and effective anti-aging solution. Botox Cosmetic is one of the most extensively studied medical aesthetic treatments. However, pregnant women should not get Botox injections. Also, anyone with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
The side effects of Botox injections may be worsened with the use of certain antibiotics (such as aminoglycoside antibiotics) or other drugs that interfere with neuromuscular transmission. Before your treatment, be sure to disclose to your doctor all pre-existing medical conditions and all medications you may be currently taking before undergoing any treatment.
