If you’re familiar with cosmetic and aesthetic procedures, then you’ve likely heard of the popular BBL, or Broad Band Light, laser therapy. BBL can be used to treat a number of skin concerns, including enlarged pores, blemishes, uneven skin pigmentation, sun-induced freckles, broken capillaries, and facial redness. After BBL treatment at DermaTouch RN, you’ll enjoy a more even, brighter, and clearer complexion.

Broadband Light Therapy in Houston, TX

How does BBL work?

We use a specific wavelength or filter for our broadband light system that then produces controlled pulses of light energy to the skin. The light energy gently heats the top layer of skin. This heat stimulated collagen production and targets the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin in pigmented lesions.

How many BBL treatments will I need?

Prior to your treatment, we will do an assessment to determine how many treatments you might need. Typically, we recommend one to two treatments for best results. We might also recommend the use of complementary treatments for quicker results.

Is there any downtime?

There is very little downtime from BBL treatments. However, it’s best to limit physical activities for at least 48 hours. One should also avoid sun exposure the month following treatment while using a daily SPF or 45 or higher.

Is BBL right for me?

BBL is not recommended for very dark or tanned skin, those who are pregnant, and those who are on Accutane therapy. It works best for those who are looking for a quick solution for pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, and redness. If your DermaTouch RN practitioner determines BBL is not right for you, an alternative treatment plan might be recommended.
