Dysport is an FDA approved prescription to relax the muscles that cause frown lines on the forehead and crows feet around the eyes. It came on the market in 2009 and was the first competitor to Botox, which had been on the market since 2002. At DermaTouch RN, we offer both Botox and Dysport, and we often get the questions, “What’s the difference?”

Dysport is very similar to Botox.

Similar to Botox, Dysport is a Botulinum Type A Neurotoxin used to relax muscles that cause crows feet and frown lines on the forehead.

How is Dysport different than Botox?

Botox is a larger molecule than Dysport, meaning it requires more Dysport to achieve a similar result to Botox. Botox is also more per unit, though because it requires more Dysport to achieve a similar result, the cost saving is minimal when compared to Botox.

As far as results, Botox typically takes 4 to 6 days to see an initial effect and Dysport typically takes 2 to 5 days.

Dysport is $1.00 off this month!

For the month of September, we’re offering Dysport at $3.00 per unit. And even if it’s not on special, you can’t beat $4.00 per unit for Dysport.  So stop in or contact us today to set up your free consultation today to determine if Dysport is right for you!

We also believe educating our patients is a priority. For more information on Dysport, refer to our Dysport Q&A.
