Laser Vein Therapy
Laser vein therapy is a non-invasive treatment that quickly and effectively eliminates broken capillaries and spider veins up to 4 mm in diameter. Common treatment areas include the face and legs. Our advanced laser vein treatment is suitable for people of all skin types and minimizes the side effects normally associated with traditional procedures.
How It Works
We use a handheld device with a cooling tip that keeps your skin protected while delivering laser energy to the target area. During treatment, pigment in the blood absorbs the laser energy, which causes the blood vessel to heat up, form scar tissue and eventually collapse.
What to Expect
Many patients see a dramatic reduction in the appearance of leg veins during treatment itself; however, the full healing process may take anywhere from two to eight weeks.
Will there be any side effects?
While laser vein therapy minimizes the redness and bruising common in traditional treatments, you may still experience some swelling and redness in the treated area. This is temporary and will subside quickly—often within a few hours or days. Hair growth in the areas that were treated may also be affected.
How long does the process take?
Treatment time depends on the size of the target area. Most sessions take 15 to 30 minutes.
Will I need multiple treatment sessions?
The average patient will see an improvement in the appearance of veins after two treatments, usually spaced eight weeks apart. Your DermaTouch RN practitioner will assess how well you are responding to the laser treatment and provide recommendations accordingly.
How much will it cost?
Cost may vary depending on severity and on how well your body responds to treatment. A consultation will be necessary for a more precise cost estimate.
Is Laser Vein Therapy for Me?
The ideal patient for laser vein therapy is in good overall health and has realistic treatment expectations. However, there are some conditions that may make laser vein treatment unsuitable or that will require your DermaTouch RN practitioner to take special precautions. These include pregnancy, type-1 diabetes, blood-clotting disorders and light sensitivity.
An alternative course of treatment may also be recommended if you have large veins, areas of broken skin, very dark skin or have tanned recently.
