What causes a decline in women’s vaginal health?
A decline in vaginal health is typically caused by two major events: Childbirth and Reduced Estrogen Levels.
Childbirth stretches the vaginal canal and surrounding tissues. The body’s own healing process takes effect to repair most of the effects of childbirth, though the tissue might not return to the same state as prior to childbirth. The vaginal walls, perineum, and surrounding tissues can be damaged due to the stretching, which can lead to vaginal health and function decline.
Menopause can lead to reduced estrogen production by the ovaries. This can lead to drying, thinning and inflammation of the vaginal walls, which might decrease healthy vaginal function for women. Chemotherapy, breastfeeding and a hysterectomy can also have similar effects.
How does the diVa work?
The diVa delivers both non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment zone. It’s the only device available that includes High Precision Automation (HPA) technology to ensure the safest and best treatment outcome for patients and predictability for the operator.
