Laser Resurfacing in Houston, TX

How does Laser Resurfacing work?

Laser light is highly absorbed by water in the superficial layer of the skin which results in reduction or ablation of the superficial skin. Our medical team at DermaTouch RN will help you choose the most effective Laser Resurfacing treatment for your skin.

When will you see results from Laser Resurfacing?

You’ll likely receive up to five Laser Resurfacing treatments for optimal results. The effects of Laser Resurfacing are cumulative. After the first treatment, there’s improvement in pigment and skin texture within only a few days. Other improvements will be more subtle and may take one to three months to appear. You might look more rested. With each subsequent Laser Resurfacing treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.

How often can Laser Resurfacing be done?

Our typical recommendation is a series of three to five Laser Resurfacing treatments spaced two to six weeks apart. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.

What can you expect right after treatment?

You might experience some redness and swelling immediately following Laser Resurfacing. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days. After that, peeling may occur for one to three days. After a Laser Resurfacing treatment, makeup may be applied to the treated area with medical approval. Also, it is extremely important to apply a moisturizer, SPF45 sunblock, and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to reduce any potential side effects.

How long does Laser Resurfacing take?

A Laser Resurfacing treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes. If prescribed, topical anesthetics should be applied 30-90 minutes before the treatment time.
