Dermal fillers have become the second most popular minimally-invasive cosmetic treatment behind Botox. And, the Juvederm family of fillers is the most popular line of dermal fillers on the market.

What is Juvederm made of?

The Juvederm family of fillers is made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the body. When injected into the skin, the filler adds volume to the areas being treated and fills in lines and wrinkles. Juvederm Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC, Volbella, Voluma, and Vollure are all fillers in the Juvederm family, each used to treat different areas of the face.

How long does Juvederm last?

It’s, of course, common for people to ask “How long does Juvederm last?” Depending on the filler used and the area being treated, Juvederm can last anywhere from six months to two years. Volbella, for example, is used to fill in peripheral lines and add subtle volume to the lips and can last up to one year. Voluma, on the other hand, is used to correct age-related volume loss and can last up to two years.

What are side effects following a Juvederm treatment?

Most side effects caused by a Juvederm treatment are mild and resolve within seven days. Some of the most common injection site reactions include swelling, bruising, itching, redness, and tenderness. Speak with your Juvederm injector about any possible side effects you might experience prior to your treatment.
