Whatever your reason, it’s important to do your research and identify reputable providers in your area that you can trust. You don’t want to be a statistic or end up with an unpleasant result or experience. When conducting your research, you want to avoid any MedSpa or aesthetic service provider that:
- Has a long history of customer dissatisfaction.
- Doesn’t take the time to listen to you and understand your needs.
- Doesn’t meet state requirements and regulations.
- Makes you feel uncomfortable for any reason.
- Doesn’t take the time to educate you on the different products and services available to support your needs and goals.
- Is quick to push products and services on you.
Now that we have some of the characteristics that you want to avoid in a MedSpa, let’s focus on what you do want to watch for:
Experience and Credentials. You want to work with a MedSpa that has a staff backed by years of aesthetic experience and education. Ask how long the provider has been offering services, as well as how long the practitioner has been providing the services you’ve requested or have been offered. You want to work with someone who has at least a couple years of experience and several successful procedures under his or her belt! Also, just because someone has the title of Doctor doesn’t mean he or she will be better equipped to provide cosmetic services. In many instances, nurses have more experience in administering fillers, Botox, and other cosmetic procedures, so again, ask to see how many successful procedures or years of experience the individual has before making a decision.
Positive Reputation. Do an online search and identify providers backed by positive reviews. With that said, don’t let a few negative reviews steer you away if the facility has plenty of positive reviews. Some people do, unfortunately, like to post negative reviews without good reason at times, so use good judgment when doing your research.
Innovation. It’s great to work with a MedSpa or Aesthetic Services provider who stays on top of current trends and technology. There’re lots of new and exciting advancements constantly being made when it comes to skin care and cosmetic treatments. Innovation might even mean bringing you a more cost-effective version of a current service, instead of simply offering the name brand of a product or service that can cost a lot more. For example, dermal skin resurfacing, using a dermal pen, is offered under a few different name brands, and providers might choose the less expensive brand to pass the savings on to their patients.
Cost Effectiveness. Cosmetic services aren’t inexpensive, by many people’s standards, but many MedSpas do offer discounts, specials, and pass vendor discounts on to their patients. Just because one facility charges more for a product or service doesn’t mean they’re more qualified or better than another provider, either. Do your homework to find a reputable provider that fits within your budget.
Customer Service You Can Trust. Find an establishment that makes you feel good every time you visit! From the staff to the environment, you want to work with a team a team you know you can trust. This is your appearance and health that we’re talking about, after all!
