Use these pre-wedding skin care tips to look and feel your best as the mother of the bride (or groom)!

Of course you want to look and feel your best at your daughter or son’s wedding with the right pre-wedding skin care treatments. It is, after all, one of the most important days for your daughter. Or, maybe you’re the mother of the groom, and you, too, wish to walk into the room with your head held high.

Below is a list of pre-wedding skin care suggestions for the big day. They are outlined based on the amount of time you have remaining prior to the event. And, if you only have a month or two before the big day, no worries! There are plenty of options available to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and add volume, so people will say, “You look great!” when they see you sitting in the front row at the wedding and reception.

Pre-Wedding Skin Care Treatments for More Than Four Months Out

Ultherapy

If you have two to three months before the big day arises, consider Ultherapy. FDA-approved Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to lift the chin, neck, and brow area, while also smoothing the lines on the chest. Ultherapy is a way to lift and tighten without going under the knife. It’s non-invasive and supports the body in producing and regenerating collagen production.

It can take three to six months for results to appear, which improve over time as collagen gradually builds, so you want to come in at least four months before the wedding day for a consultation and treatment.

Pre-Wedding Skin Care Treatments for One to Four Months Out

Chemical Peels

We all want that beautiful glow, especially on our wedding day. Facials are fabulous treatments to treat and refine the skin.

Chemical Peels are a more advanced treatment that goes deeper to treat the skin. Chemical peels target the appearance of acne, fine lines, and rosacea. Overall skin tone and texture and tone are also improved with chemical peels and facials. SkinMedica chemical peels can do wonders for the skin, for example. It typically takes a series of peels for maximum results, so it’s best to schedule treatments two to four months out to allow the time required between treatments.

Facials

Facials can be the perfect solution to give your skin a quick refresh without the downtime. The Diamond Glow (formerly known as DermalInfusion) treatment, for example, is an advanced three-in-one treatment to exfoliate and hydrate the skin with no downtime. Even though there isn’t any downtime, it’s still recommended you do these types of treatments at least a week out from the big day in case your skin needs time to calm from any purging of impurities or other factors.

CoolSculpting Elite

CoolSculpting uses FDA-cleared cooling technology to target fat cells and freeze them. Once the fat cells are frozen, they are naturally eliminated from the body and gone for good.

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared to reduce diet- and exercise-resistant fat in nine areas, including the abdomen, submandibular (under the jawline) area, thighs, flank, upper arm, underneath the buttocks, and submental (under the chin) areas. It’s also FDA-cleared to treat bra fat and back fat.

Clients often see a 20-25% reduction in the fat layer thickness of the area treated after just one session. Many clients see fat loss within one to three months after treatment, so it’s best to come in three months before the big day for your CoolSculpting Elite consultation and treatment.

Botox Treatment

Improve the appearance of fine lines on the forehead, between the eyes, and crow’s feet around the eyes with Botox. Botox takes approximately five to twelve days to see maximum results, and results last for four to six months. As results wear off, additional Botox injections are required to maintain results. In case you need touch-ups, you want to get your Botox treatment at least one month out from the wedding.

Dermal Filler Liquid Facelift

A dermal filler treatment is commonly referred to as a liquid facelift or non-surgical facelift, and for a good reason. Dermal fillers fill in line and wrinkles and add volume to the face. Popular dermal filler lines include the Juvederm and Restylane family of fillers, both of which are HA (hyaluronic acid) dermal filler lines.

HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to give our skin its plumpness. HA decreases in our body as we age, increasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and volume loss. These fillers help to draw water to the areas treated, adding volume to those areas.

Dermal fillers can be used around the mouth, to fill in the nasolabial folds, add volume to the cheeks, contour the jaw line, and augment the chin (i.e., Liquid Facelift for Jowls), and to add volume to the lip area. Depending on the area treated, the type and amount of dermal filler used, and an individual’s body chemistry, dermal fillers last six months to two years.

To achieve the results you desire, it might take more than one treatment. It can also be a good idea to build filler over time, so you don’t get too much or look overfilled initially. To allow for touch-ups and time to achieve your desired results, it’s best to have fillers injected two to three months out. It also takes fillers about two weeks to “settle,” at which time you’ll have a good idea as to the long-term look of your dermal filler treatment.
